Director of Personnel Named for Christian County Public Schools
A familiar face will soon take on the new role as Director of Personnel. Anita Hopson has been selected to manage and lead human resource services and initiatives for the Christian County Public School System.
Current Director of Personnel, Vicki Myers, will retire at the end of the school year with 27 years of dedication and service in public education. She was hired as the district’s Director of Personnel in 2012.
Ms. Hopson, a native of Hopkinsville, KY, has 24 years of education experience working solely in the Christian County Public School System. Her time spent in education includes serving in capacities as a teacher, curriculum specialist, a principal and as the Director of Elementary Education.
“The effectiveness of HR practices in our education system are critical to providing schools with both certified and qualified staff members. Ms. Hopson’s wealth of experience, demonstrates high levels of commitment; her long-time employee status with our district is indication of her dedication to Christian County Schools. CCPS is fortunate to have someone lead this department on behalf of nearly 1,300 employees,” says Superintendent Mary Ann Gemmill.
As Personnel Director, Ms. Hopson will plan and direct selection and assignment of the best qualified teachers and personnel; assist in administering and monitor the School Board’s policy on affirmative action in recruitment, hiring, transfers, promotion, compensations and other benefits; oversee job applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal statutes, and follow board policy on non-discrimination.
